My research and creative practice explores the intersection between video, sound, and interactivity. My work investigates the circularity and cyclicality of time by rearranging the flow of past and present, telling stories in non-linear looping flows, or subdividing time into tiny units to be dynamically recombined. I create new instruments for performance and new interfaces for interaction, connecting physical gesture to narrative space. My works are not self-contained objects that are fixed in time and space. Rather, they are open-ended environments whose resolution does not occur until the moment of interaction, and evolving processes that function in the present. As such, these works maintain an element of risk, indeterminacy, improvisation, and unpredictability. |
